The House Reflecting Ripples was designed by Kichi Architectural Design (a studio from Tsukuba City) and is located in Tsukubamirai in Ibaraki prefecture. The facade refers to ripples on river surface. The cherry blossom trees surrounding the house played an important role in the design process – the architect aimed to achieve the relationship between the building and the trees. He wanted to enable home residents to observe the beauty of cherry trees which changes with seasons.
