Ken Mihara and his ceramics inspired by Japanese tradition

Ken Mihara specializes in high-fired stoneware. He was born in 1958 in Shimane Prefecture and gained his experience at FUNAKI Kenji’s Studio. His works show the strong influence of traditional Japanese values ​​such as aesthetics of wabi-sabi. His ware is simple and crude. The artist reveals the natural beauty of the raw material and experiments with colors, texture and form. Ken Mihara is a highly respected ceramist worldwide, he won numerous awards and his works can be seen in museums not only in Japan but also in the United States and Great Britain.
